Like the time I walked into a house and the entire bathroom was carpeted. Not joking. Even around the toilet. That’s a level of commitment… and maybe a health code violation.
Or the house with a full-length mirror wall in the dining room. Like, imagine trying to eat spaghetti while staring at yourself from every angle. I mean — who is that for?
Then there was the one where the seller proudly showed off a koi pond… inside the living room. With a hose connected to it. You had to step around it to get to the couch. It felt like the fish owned the place.
But here’s the thing — these weird moments are funny, but they’re also reminders. If you’re selling, it’s important to see your home the way a buyer sees it. Because what feels “unique” to you might feel confusing or off-putting to someone else.
